Mexican-style Baked Pasta

A delicious change from regular pasta casseroles. The noodles
noodles make it even more novel.

Ingredients: for 6 people

  • 450 g ground beef
  • 1 sachet taco seasoning (see recipe below)
  • 425 g tomato sauce
  • 1/4 cup chopped green bell pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 225 g (225 g) uncooked spiral pasta, boiled and drained
  • 1 cup (115 g) shredded Cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup sour cream


In a large skillet, cook the meat over medium heat until it loses its color
pink. Drain.
Add taco seasoning, tomato sauce, green bell pepper and spices.
Bring to a boil then remove from heat.
Meanwhile, mix together the pasta, 1/2 cup of the cheese and the sour cream.
Place in a greased baking dish. Top with meat mixture and remaining cheese.

Bake, uncovered, at 350º for 30 minutes or until cooked.

Taco seasoning:

If you don’t have a packet of ready-made taco seasoning, it’s easy to make your own. You can also use it for other dishes and give them a special flavor.


  • 2 teaspoons onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon of chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon paprika or paprika
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt


If the recipe already has garlic and oregano in it, you can omit it in this recipe.
Mix all ingredients well during a small bowl.
You can multiply the quantities of this recipe to use another time and keep it.
